How to Make

Each Hotmail group collects the email addresses
of all the members and works
as a mailing list by making it easy
to send a message to the whole group.

To set up a group of recipients in Hotmail:
* Select Mail from the main Hotmail navigation bar.
* Click on the down arrow of the New button.
* Select Group.
* Give your group a name.
o This name acts as a nickname (or Quickname as it is called in Hotmail)
when addressing messages.
* The Quickname must be unique in your address book
(a group cannot have the same name as another group
or another address book entry's Quickname).

* Highlight all existing Hotmail address book contacts you want to add to your group.
* To add an email address not in your address book, type it in the entry field below the list.
* Click Add .
* Finally, click Save.

How to send an Email to Your Hotmail Group

Groups in Hotmail are useful for sending messages to — groups.
Instead of 34 email addresses you need to type only one Quickname.
This group Quickname is expanded to all the group members'
email addresses automatically by Hotmail.
This is why putting such a group Quickname in the To: or Cc: field usually is not a good idea.
Then every recipient can see all the other recipients' email addresses.

* Select New Message on your Hotmail Today page.
* Type your group's Quickname in the Bcc: field.
Alternatively, you can insert it from your Hotmail address book.

Your message will automatically be delivered to all members of the group.
If you want, you can put your email address in the To: field
of your Hotmail group message,
but you can just as well leave it empty.
